Sophie Serese, Founder of the Australian Youth Opera, has written 12 full-scale operas to date, writing her first opera at the age of 10. She began composing at five, breaking a World Record in being the youngest person at age 14 to have completed both the orchestrated musical score and libretto of a full-scale opera, “The White Cat”. Now 22, Sophie is the youngest opera composer in Australia to have her operas performed at The Arts Centre. Sophie has written numerous works, including a musical, concertos, fugues, and 50 pop songs!  

A member of the Fellowship of Australian Composers, Sophie is a member of the Genesis Project online, Covent Garden, Royal Opera House. Sophie is currently studying a Bachelor of Music (Composition) at the University of Tasmania.
